Trenchless procedures utilize cutting-edge technology to deliver a minimally invasive sewer repair service to our customers. Traditional methods of sewer repair involve digging long trenches - in backyards, basements, or under streets - to reach and replace whole sections of pipe at a time. Trenchless methods need only a small hole to reach your pipe, which is left in the ground even after your procedure is complete.
This minimally invasive process is important for a number of reasons. With less time invested in simply reaching the pipe before any plumbing work has even begun, and more precise, accurate methods used to diagnose your plumbing issue, our team at Gladiator Rooter & Plumbing team complete your job in a fraction of the time that traditional methods would take, completing our work in a single day.
Traditional methods of plumbing system repair also often come with hidden costs. The trench used to access your pipe will need to be filled in, which is generally not included in the plumber’s fee. Fresh landscaping or the pouring of new concrete also adds another dimension of cost. Trenchless methods require very little in the way of clean-up. With the incorporation of trenchless technologies, the inconvenience of downtime and the water services being turned off is a thing of the past. The possibility of property damage and disruption to your home or business is eliminated, saving you time and money from needing to pay for remediation costs or other additional expenses that are outside the scope of trenchless sewer repairs.
Environmental friendliness is another trenchless benefit. As the original pipe stays in the ground, less material is sent to a landfill. The notable durability of a trenchless sewer pipe lining (up to fifty years) also means that fewer repairs and replacements will need to be conducted over time, again leading to less waste and water usage. At Gladiator Rooter & Plumbing, we use cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining to effectively insert a brand-new pipe inside your existing sewer line. First, a sewer camera inspection is performed to assess and locate damage. Pipe lining can be used throughout a plumbing system entire, or can be applied in a localized area. Straight, curved, and 90-degree angle pipes are also no problem to adhere the liner to, making it a (literally) highly flexible procedure.
Next, hydro jetting is used to deep-clean the pipe in order to prepare it for the liner’s insertion. A hot jet of highly pressurized water is projected into the pipe, stripping away kitchen grease, irregularities from rust, and breaking down clogs such as tree roots. Finally, a deflated liner coated in a durable epoxy resin is threaded into the pipe by our technician. Once it reaches the target area, it’s inflated, allowing the resin to coat the inside of the pipe. The balloon is removed, and the resin undergoes a brief curing period of several hours. Once this is complete, the new liner acts as a brand-new pipe!
